On Demand: Underage Sex Billboard Campaign Targets Johns, Pimps

Poe says the organization has recently received calls from other parts of the state – from Augusta to Columbus – requesting ads in their area.

“We hope to run as many billboards as we can; especially the electronic ones because there are no production costs with those,” he says. “We have 175 [electronic billboards] statewide and 100 in metro Atlanta alone. This won’t cost A Future. Not A Past. a dime. We try to do as much as we can for these type of causes.”

Poe says the joint effort is the result of a call by A Future. Not A Past’s. Executive Director Kaffie McCullough’s. She requested some exposure for its campaign after hearing about the organization’s other community service efforts, including its support of Amber Alerts, Mattie’s Calls and Levi’s Calls in the state.

“The way it works is, we donate the space for free and the organization just pays for the art work,” explains Poe.

Poe says he is optimistic about the ad campaign and the joint effort.

“These are powerful, powerful ads; we’re big supporters of this,” he says. “We hope it makes a difference. We hope to see lots of positive come out of this. We hope to partner with this organization for a long time.”
