Data Scientist—Madison, WI, or Oakland, CA
The National Council on Crime and Delinquency (NCCD) works to improve social systems that serve society’s most vulnerable individuals and families. Our research and training help these systems achieve better outcomes for maltreated and neglected children, juvenile justice-involved youth, incarcerated individuals, and older adults.
NCCD is looking to hire a data scientist to work with cross-agency project teams. The data scientist will help these
teams leverage large data sets and perform advanced analytics to drive system improvement efforts.

More About Data Science
NCCD combines data analysis expertise with extensive content knowledge to provide insights to social service agencies about how to improve outcomes for the individuals and families they serve. The data scientist will work with the research and analysis team, the social services practice team, and the technology services team to manage projects that integrate and use data from multiple social service agency databases.
The data scientist’s specific tasks will include researching statistical learning models for data analysis, working with analytic platforms such as R or Python, and identifying which data are available and relevant.
