The University of California, Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources, a statewide program with local development and delivery, is seeking a 4-H Youth Development Assistant Cooperative Extension advisor for Orange County, California.

The 4-H Youth Development Advisor is:
- an innovative community or youth development leader to conduct an extension, education and applied research program to assess, develop, implement, evaluate, strengthen and expand local UC 4-H Youth Development (4-H YD) programming and better serve under-represented populations.
- a professional with a minimum of a Master’s degree is required, though other advanced degrees are encouraged, in one of the following disciplines: education, youth/child development, human development, science/science education or other related fields. Experience in conducting applied research and education programs with youth, strong leadership skills and experience in program and/or personnel management, and excellent written and oral communication skills are required. The ability to communicate effectively in Spanish is desired.
- an advisor who will cultivate collaborators and donors with governmental agencies, youth service organizations, industry groups, schools, fairs and interested individuals.
- a passionate educator whose academic training and/or professional experience provides an understanding of science with the ability to transfer research-based principles to program and research design methodologies. Experience or the ability to apply low-literacy and culturally/ethnically relevant principles to extension and research programs as well as experience and demonstrated success in working with diverse populations and the ability to bridge cultural differences are preferred.
SALARY: Beginning salary will be in the Cooperative Extension Assistant Advisor Rank and commensurate with applicable experience and professional qualifications.
