CASA/LA improves the lives of children in the child welfare system by pairing them with a trained volunteer who advocates for their safety, permanency, and well-being and seeks to reduce and reverse the effects of child abuse and neglect. Nowhere in the nation is the need greater than in Los Angeles County, where over 30,000 children are under the jurisdiction of the Dependency Court. CASA/LA will serve over 1,300 of these children and youth in Fiscal Year 2021 and is on a strategic path to serve 12,000 children and youth within ten years. The CEO reports directly to the Board of Directors and is responsible for implementing, supervising, and evaluating CASA/LA’s strategic plan. Supported by a Chief Development and Partnerships Officer, a Chief Program Officer, a Chief Financial Officer, and over 50 full-time employees, the CEO will lead the organization internally and serve externally as the voice of CASA/LA. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated personal passion for the mission of CASA/LA and for social justice and will be able to speak credibly and persuasively about its vision for the future. Candidates should have a minimum of ten years of progressively responsible executive experience, including a proven record of success managing a large staff and external constituencies. The incoming CEO’s career should include experience with day-to-day operations of nonprofit organizations and the political and fundraising relationships needed to meet CASA/LA’s goals. Experience developing and managing budgets and successful experience with individual, corporate, government and foundation fundraising is important. Experience working with volunteers is strongly preferred. An advanced degree is preferred. The salary range is $170,000 to $190,000 based on experience.
