A Cobb County lawyer who represents fathers in divorce and custody cases will be the next Director of Georgia’s Office of the Child Advocate. Governor-elect Nathan Deal has named Tonya Boga as the state’s child welfare watchdog.
Boga lives in Marietta and is a partner in the Boga & Edwards Law Group. Her law practice promises “Advocacy for Fathers who want to maintain a strong healthy relationship with their children.”
According to Boga’s profile, she’s a Juvenile Court Mediator, Guardian Ad Litem, and a member of the National Association of Counsel for Children. She is past president of the Cobb County Bar Association Family Law Section. She has two law degrees, including a Master of Laws from Loyola University in Chicago, and the University of Tennessee.
Boga is also active in Republican politics. She is past president of the Cobb County Republican Women’s Club. Boga’s Facebook page features of photo of her with Sandra and Nathan Deal.
Tonya Boga will fill the office left vacant by Melissa Carter, who resigned several weeks ago to become Director of the Barton Child Law and Policy Center at Emory University.
Apparently Jose is a spurned man who didn’t make the grade in the eyes of the Child Advocate. Director Boga is a bonafide improvement in this area and has the child’s best interest at heart at all times. As a father, you should want the best for your child as well. Judging by your email post, (You did want it to be judged didn’t you?), I would say that your behavior and language probably got you in trouble.
Take the time you set aside in writing this rant and get some counseling. If talking to someone is all that you need to do to get your visitation and relationships right, then why not do it?
God will witness that too.

I HAD TO HIRE A PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR AND LAWYER JUST TO GET VISITATION AND SHE FOUGHT AGAINST ME FOR 1 EXTRA HOUR TO SEE MY SON DURING THE WEEK. “FATHER’S ATTORNEY” IS JUST A MARKETING GIMMICK.. SHE DOESN’T CARE ABOUT CHILDREN, JUST MONEY!! HER WEBSITE IS A FARCE. TONYA BOGUS!! SHE CLAIMS TO BE A FATHER’S ADVOCATE FOR HELPING FATHERS BUILD STRONG RELATIONSHIPS WITH HER CHILDREN, ABSOLUTELY FALSE!! HOW EASILY PEOPLE WILL GIVE UP THERE VALUES FOR AN EXTRA PAY CHECK.. GOD HAS WITNESSED IT AND HE WILL BE THE JUDGE.
@ Jose Cruz. If God will be the judge…then you might want to stop throwing stones of your own. You don’t state all the facts of your case. Judges aren’t stupid. Lawyers argue what their client tells them. It’s not her own personal stance that you don’t deserve time with your child. Your actions all deserve a reaction. So, what did you do? What did you not do? Look in the mirror before you begin pointing fingers at someone else for your outcome. Your fate has always been in your hands. Tonya is a hard-working, factual woman. I believe her to be a great lawyer and advocate for children.
