Department of Education Offers ‘CAMP’ Grants

The Federal Department of Education is accepting applications for its College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP). The purpose of CAMP is to provide academic and financial support to help migrant and seasonal farmworkers and their children complete their first year of college and continue in postsecondary education. The Obama administration has requested more than $3 million for this program for FY 2012, but the funding depends on congressional approval. The estimated range of awards is from $180,000 to $425,000. Deadline for Transmittal of Applications: January 18, 2012.
